Upon receiving the "device" from Ignace, he agrees to send more information to us when we can, and we depart to the Callidus household. Once there I continue my work on Skullvitor, and successfully repair it to allow his machine spirit to vocalize! It's a triumph and testament to my continuous devotion to the Omnisiah. I also attempt to uncover some of the inner workings of the Device, but alas I am unable to pry it open. For now.
In the morning, my co-workers and I plan our events for the upcoming Ball of Uriel, but are interrupted by a holographic message from Ignace. He plathers about the "difficulty" of the device he took and his services, but also informs us and the Callidus family that he has heard information that Saia has "overdosed" on something. No other information about this event is given and his message ends. My cohorts inform me that overdosing is at best an unpleasant thing, which would explain the adverse reaction Callidus had on hearing the news.
Our group continues to plan on our actions during the ball, as The Adjudicator had been able to procure a list of persons of interest. Though I had intended to pose as some sort of entertainer, I found that I lacked any sort of talents that I found entertaining to the likes of nobles. Additionally, there was no chance we would be able to conceal my Tech-Priest heritage. So it was decided I would simply be a representative of the Cult Mechanicus visiting the Callidus on personal business - which involves a lot less deceiving and thus much more suited to myself. The others began preparing their attire in the style of the planet, and taking note of the prevalence of optic light-based attire among the nobles, found some LED lighting within a storage room of the manor and attached them to my person. Truly, I was quite the fashionable individual.
We arrive at the ball, announced as part of Julia's party, and head off our separate ways. I take Skullvitor upon my shoulder and immediately am approached by several people wishing to ask about who I am and what a Tech-Priest is doing here. I simply start explaining mundane aspects of the Cult Mechanicus and these nobles seem fascinated by my words. One in particular, Lady Tanac Borela, is voracious for my tales. She introduces herself as a member of the Verdant Shine, and offers me an invitation to attend a meeting of theirs. This seems to be an excellent opportunity to investigate the cult and perhaps gain more knowledge about it as a whole, so I accept. Another member of the cult, [insert name here], also seems taken by me and invites me. I seem to have made quite an impression on this party.
Near the end of the event, vials of some strange and pleasant-smelling liquid are handed out, and we are invited to drink it in good faith. Seeing no reason to disrupt these peoples' trust in me, I imbibe. It's faintly sweet and tickles my taste-receptors, while imbuing me with a sense of confidence. I quite enjoy the feeling, and ask for a few more before we are summoned to leave.
When we return to the Callidus manor, The Adjudicator reveals he has smuggled one of the drinks out of the party in order for us to discover what it truly is. As I am the only one with any medical knowledge, I take the flask it was hidden in and (after taking another sip for myself) place it in the molecular analyzer in our quarters. The contents are found to be three part: Boraxis, a deadly toxin from Dusk, alcohol, and an unknown organic substance. I find it strange that such a simple thing can have such an affect on my senses - perhaps I am not familiar with Boraxis as I thought? The Spacer then determines that being organic, he can attempt to perform some warp magic on it to determine it's origin. Once he does however, it reacts in a way that clearly indicates it is REDACTED. To think I have consumed no less than three vials of this heretical substance... I will be feeling unwell for quite a few solar cycles.
