Mirabar
Mirabar is the mining center of the sword coast.
Location:
Mirabar is located on a knoll on the North Banks of the River Mirar, just North of the Lurkwood Forest.
Description:
The city sits atop a raised knoll and is surrounded by thick sloped walls to defend the town. The interior consists of additional rings of defensive walls going down into the interior. The architecture is simple and utilitarian with stone buildings and slate roofed tiles. The notable exception is the Hall of Sparkling Stones, the massive domed fortress on a raised hill at the center of town which contains the seat of government and the Marchions Palace. There's also a large walled garden at the center of the city to provide food for the residents. It has several underground levels known as the "Belows" (first below, second below, etc) that eventually reach down into the Underdark. The mines largely reside just outside the city proper.
People:
Mirabar consists of roughly 19,000 humans and 4,000 dwarves.
Government:
Mirabar is led by a hereditary Marchion as well as a 42 member elected council.
Military:
The military force of Mirabar is the Axe of Mirabar, 1,000 members strong. They largely defend miners traveling to and from the mines from raids. The Marchion also has an elite personal guard known as the Hammer.

House of the Bright Blade: Swordsmith shop run by Zespara Alather, finest swords in the region.
The Goblet and Gems: Tavern, gambling hall, and house of ill repute.
The Sign of the Forgehammer: Local no frills inn, where travelers are typically directed.
Hall of All Fires: Dwarven meeting hall in the First Below
Hall of Sparkling Stones: Seat of power where the Marchion resides and the council convenes.
