Her father was the town's butcher, a strong-armed man with a stronger cut. Her mother was one of the many shepherds tending the flocks that roamed the countryside. For many nights her mother would be out working to watch and guard the animals. When her mother was around Kalli stuck to her like glue, learning much of animals and herding. It was with her mother she learned to help wounded animals. She also learned how to wield a stave by training with her mother's crook. Through her mother she learned of the old Wallister ways of patience and understanding. She kept true with her mother's old religion and prayed devoutly when she could to the Gods. This would appear to make a meek child. But her mother was often away leaving her under the care of her father. He was a good man but when she got big enough he had her help out at the butcher. There she picked up some harder habits and harder muscles. It was not long before she could fight off anyone bothering her, and proved herself more of a tom boy than most. Working at the butcher was not without incidents. When removing a hanging piece of meat for a customer a hook fell and cut a massive gash into her face. Kalli grasped at the wound in shock while her father sent for the town's healer. It was then, at just a few months past her sixteenth birthday she discovered her divine talent. She found her hands glowing and soon the wound was healed. The town's cleric was estatic to find another with the divine touch. He offered to teach her how to heal and even offered to write her a letter of recommendation so she could learn in the capital. Kalli was split between many worlds while she tried to figure what she would do. The cleric continuously interrupted her work at the butcher to have her train and heal a simple injury leading to her growing contempt. She knew she could learn at the capital but enjoyed her life at the butcher. She also has fear of the divine healing talent from her mother's religion. Over the years she balanced a life of healing, tending animals, and treating human injuries. As she grew she tried to find a footing of controlling her life. Her mother was steadily staying home and letting others tend the flock, and her father was hiring new help at the butcher shop. When she finally began to realize she could find time to do what she wanted to do, the war broke out. Nearby forces rallied and tried to help retake the capital back. Many were injured and a call came out. Looking to find her own way in the world, Kalli stepped forward offering her training. She was quickly inducted into the army and began to tend the wounds. The army life was much different than the slower life she was use to. Her attitude and stubbornness did not help make many friends. Her friendly bedside manner was vanishing by her irritation of treating the same wounds over and over. When at time she would be alone in her tent she would pray to her Gods and try to find guidance. Her irritation with healing was making her bitter and cold towards people, regardless of the many who tried to woo her. But while she might retreat from the world to her tent, she always came out ready to face the call for help at the medical center. == Attachments == ## * [[attachment:liz_cs.pdf|Character Sheet]] |

Background
Kalli was raised in Western Wallister to a quiet town well removed from the rest of the world.
